Challenge

Business customers were using Credit Cards to pay for their orders, which was costing the company over $6 million a year in just processing fees.

Solution

• Integrated with 3rd party surcharging provider to allow business customers to pay with their Credit Card.
• Created new messaging and flow for customers using a Credit Card to pay for their order.
• Built integrations with Finance and Accounting to allow for the proper recording of the surcharge.

Results

• Recouped $5 million of the $6 million in lost processing fees
• Increased debit card usage by 10+%.
• Established a scalable model for future fee structures, future legal requirements, and future surcharging.
